Life As A Game

Everyday of our life, we play games. Actually, as it is said, Life is a game. If you ever want to be somebody, then you got to know, how to play- The Game of Life. In any game, one finds oneself, face to face with all bloodthirsty competitors. But, the one who in reality is a smart player, and knows all the strategies of the game efficiently, is an underdog.

Underestimated Underdogs

An underdog is a person, who is highly underestimated. He is either a person, or a group in itself, who is famously expected and anticipated to lose. This happens very often in the competitions related to politics, creative fields, or sports. One never has a thought that the underdog might win the competition against the favored party to win, who are lovingly known by the public as the top dog. The whole event is known as an upset, a let down, if the underdog succeeds to win against the top dog.  One uses these terms frequently in sports betting.]

Underdogs Or Top dogs?

However, the term is used referring to any cultural or social group, when we consider it in a broader sense. This group usually suffers from discrimination, or financial disability. This group is then hugely sympathized by the public in its own or the other countries. One understands the importance of this vital consideration in the fights of National liberation, social justice, or the civil rights movements.  The definition of an underdog might change rapidly with changing circumstances.
